Terms & conditions
What our services include, how purchases work and the rights you keep.
Effective date: 25 October 2026 · Version 1.0
The operator’s verified business and processing details will be published here before checkout opens. You can use the free guidance in the meantime.
01. Who you are dealing with
UIFAssist is the trading name of Available before purchases open, Available before purchases open. Our full supplier, contact, registration and legal-service details appear below. These terms apply to your use of UIFAssist.com and any maternity claim assistance package you buy from us.
UIFAssist is an independent private service. We are not UIF or the Department of Employment and Labour. Official forms and direct applications are free. The R49 price is for original educational examples, not the government forms or a UIF benefit.
02. Availability and the law on claim-processing fees
Section 33(3) of the Unemployment Insurance Act prohibits an agency or person claiming to act for an applicant from charging that applicant for processing an application for benefits. Calling a charge an administration fee does not remove this restriction.
The R249 review and R999/R1399 submission packages describe proposed service scopes and remain closed to purchase unless a lawful service model has been confirmed and explicitly made available. A price on this website is not an offer to perform prohibited claim processing. Nothing in these terms overrides the Act.
03. Choose the support you need
Sample Pack, R49: a downloadable example pack, an organised collection of blank forms and our preparation guidance. Examples use fictional details and must not be submitted as your own application. This option does not include document uploads, personal document review or submission.
Check and Self Submit, R249: the Sample Pack plus secure document upload and a human completeness and consistency check for one maternity claim. We provide written feedback and one recheck of the corrections we requested. You submit your own claim and manage official follow-up.
Check and Submit, R999: the Sample Pack, document check and preparation and submission of one maternity claim through a permitted channel under an accepted mandate. We record the submission reference and provide the follow-up described in your order confirmation.
Late Claim Assistance, R1399: the total price for the check-and-submit service where the standard application window has passed and we have first confirmed a potentially available route. This fee is not a UIF penalty and does not guarantee that a late application will be accepted.
04. What a check means
Our check identifies missing fields, documents and apparent inconsistencies in the materials you provide. We do not certify the truth of a document, provide medical certification or replace your employer's declarations. You remain responsible for checking the information you sign.
We do not provide litigation, an employment-law opinion, accounting advice, employer payroll administration or a guarantee of eligibility. An appeal, employer dispute or other additional work requires a separate agreement before any fee is charged.
05. Ordering and payment
All prices are in South African rand. The final amount shown before payment includes applicable taxes and all charges for the selected package. There is no recurring subscription. Your checkout summary lets you review the service and price, correct the selection or leave before paying.
Payments are processed by Payfast on its payment page. We activate paid access only after payment has been verified. Returning from Payfast or receiving an on-screen redirect is not by itself proof of payment. We do not ask for your card PIN or keep your full card details.
Your order confirmation identifies the package, total price, date, order number and terms version. You can access your order record in your profile and request a copy from support.
06. Delivery and service timing
The digital pack becomes available in your profile after verified payment. Contact us if access is missing or a file does not open. Save a personal copy of downloaded materials and your transaction record.
Our current service response times are digital access follows confirmed payment. Assisted services are not currently open unless explicitly shown as available on the Services page. If opened lawfully, we aim to give initial document feedback within five business days after all required material is received and the service start date has arrived; up to two reasonable follow-up enquiries are included for an accepted submission service. Human review begins when payment is verified, required documents and permissions are complete, and the agreed start date has arrived. We will tell you about a material delay and agree the next step.
The official application, decision and payment timelines are controlled by UIF. We cannot promise a decision date, payment date, benefit amount or approval.
07. Starting work during the cooling-off period
Where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act cooling-off right applies, you can cancel an online service agreement without a reason or penalty within seven days after concluding it. The law has exceptions, including services begun with your consent during that period.
You may separately ask us at checkout to begin human assistance immediately. If you do, and we begin, that exception may apply to the started service. If you do not request an early start, we will wait until the seven-day period has ended before starting human work. This does not remove your rights if our service is defective or not supplied.
08. Cancellations and refunds
As our own policy, you may request a full refund for the R49 digital pack within seven days of purchase, even if you have downloaded it. Please stop using paid materials after a refund. Official government forms remain available from their original sources.
For an assistance package, contact the Contact page with your order number to cancel. Before human work begins, we refund the package price. After an authorised early start or after the cooling-off period, we assess a fair refund for the part not performed and explain any work already completed. Where legislation gives you a greater right, that right applies.
If we cannot provide an accepted service, we will notify you and refund the amount relating to the service we cannot provide. Duplicate payments will be refunded. A rejected UIF claim does not by itself show that our assistance was defective; your rights concerning poor or incomplete service remain unaffected.
We process a refund to the original payment route where possible. A refund due under the applicable ECTA cooling-off right will be made within 30 days of cancellation. Payment-provider or bank processing may affect when it appears in your account.
09. Your claim and documents
Give us accurate, current information and genuine, legible documents. Obtain the required signatures and confirmations from your employer, bank or medical practitioner. Do not alter an official declaration or sign for someone without proper authority.
Tell us promptly about changes such as employer pay, the birth date, return to work, bank details or an existing application. Keep original documents and your own copies. We may pause work to clarify a discrepancy and will explain what is needed.
Do not submit duplicate claims for the same period. Tell us if you or another representative have already applied.
10. Permission to act on your behalf
Buying a submission package does not by itself authorise us to sign declarations for you or use your uFiling account. Before a representative submission, we require a separate limited mandate and an official channel that accepts that arrangement.
You remain in control of your uFiling password and one-time codes. Never share them with UIFAssist. If official identity verification, a claimant action or an in-person step is required, we will explain what you must do. We will not bypass those requirements.
You may revoke a mandate in writing. We will stop future authorised actions once we receive and verify your instruction, explain any step already taken and apply the cancellation terms to unfinished work. We cannot withdraw or erase an official record simply by closing your UIFAssist account.
11. Late applications
Please contact us before paying for late-claim assistance. We need to understand the dates, reason for delay, available evidence and the official route. We accept a late service only after that assessment.
Only the relevant authority can accept a late application or any request for permission to submit late. Paying R1399 does not extend a legal deadline or secure an exception. If no permitted route is available, we will not offer a paid submission as if one were guaranteed.
12. Claim status and communication
Your profile shows the progress of your UIFAssist service and official information that has been recorded with its source and date. It is not a live government database and should not be understood as a real-time UIF status check.
A status such as Documents received or Ready to submit is our service status. An official reference or decision will be identified separately. Only UIF decides a claim and makes the benefit payment.
Please use your profile for claim documents. General contact forms and ordinary email are for questions and notifications, not unsolicited identity, bank or medical documents.
13. Using your account
Use your own account, protect your sign-in details and complete the security checks required for private documents. Do not attempt to access someone else's records, upload harmful files or use the service for fraud.
We may temporarily restrict access where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misuse or protect records. We will give a reason and a way to contact us where lawful and appropriate. A security restriction does not remove a lawful refund or access right.
14. Privacy and permissions
Our Privacy Policy explains the records we need, why we use them, who receives them and your choices. We request separate permissions for relevant health information, a child's information and optional analytics.
If you provide a document about another person, you must have a lawful basis and any necessary authority to do so. Contact us if you are unsure what to include. We may ask you to remove unnecessary information.
15. Materials and official forms
You may download and use the paid guidance and examples for your own claim. You may share the parts needed with your employer, bank, medical practitioner or representative. You may not resell our original guidance or present it as your own product without permission.
We do not claim ownership of government forms. Their official source and requirements remain authoritative. Forms and procedures can change; use the current version required by the receiving authority.
16. Our responsibility to you
We must provide the agreed service with reasonable care, skill and the quality required by applicable law. Tell us promptly about an error so we can investigate and propose a remedy. If the service falls short of a legal standard, applicable correction or refund rights remain available.
We are not responsible for a decision or delay solely controlled by UIF, your employer or another independent body. This does not excuse a failure by UIFAssist to perform its own obligations.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, an unlawful interference with personal information or any responsibility that the law does not permit us to exclude. No provision limits your non-excludable consumer rights.
17. Questions, complaints and disputes
Contact the Contact page with your order number and the outcome you are asking for. Do not attach sensitive documents unless we arrange a protected route. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 business days and explain the next step.
You remain free to approach a competent regulator, ombud, tribunal or court. Consumer complaints may be raised with the National Consumer Commission at https://thencc.org.za/complaints/. Privacy complaints may be raised with the Information Regulator at https://inforegulator.org.za/complaints/.
South African law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. We do not require you to waive legal remedies or use private arbitration as the only way to resolve a dispute.
18. Changes to these terms
The terms shown when you buy apply to that order unless a lawful change is agreed with you. Updates to the website apply to future use or purchases from their stated date. A change to a price does not change an already accepted order.
If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the rest continues so far as it can operate fairly and legally. These terms, your order confirmation and any signed submission mandate describe the agreed service.
